- Feb week 2-4 – Apply pre-emergent
March – April
- Mid March when temperature reach above 50 and below 60, Start mowing the lawn, mower should be set to its lowest setting which means you should target fine flat surface after the mow done.
- After one week or two when you see there are two leaves coming out in your lawn then start the process called DETHATCH. It can be done with a dethatch tool or a power tool like this (https://www.greenworkstools.com/10-14inch-corded-dethatcher-349)
- After 1 week apply fertilizer
May-June
- Apply pre-emergent again
- Fertilize every 6 weeks once
- Water every day 50% in the morning and 50% in the evening
- Start putting insect/grub killer spray or granules
- If f it rained more then apply lawn fungus remover
July – August
- Keep mowing lawn and watering the lawn directed above.
- Continue the fertilization schedule.
September
- If the temperature start to decrease this is the time to observe and stop mowing.
- We need to keep the lawn at-least 2 inch tall.
- Stop fertilization.
- Reduce the watering schedule and reduce the water amount.
- Last week of Sep is when we need to apply pre-emergent again.
October – November – December
- Once you see drying grass and nothing is green then this is the perfect time to apply insecticide and weed killer etc.
- Apply grub killer pre-emergent (if you have missed to apply on Sep.)
- Apply all kind of insecticide at this time.
